Many years ago, my husband, my mum, and I embarked on a journey to the Gallipoli Peninsula. At the time, reaching the destination from Istanbul posed quite a challenge. However, with an early start and enduring a couple of lengthy bus rides, we eventually arrived at our intended destination.

Anzac Cove, the Gallipoli Peninsula, and the trenches all exuded an eerie, ghost-like atmosphere. However, among these haunting sites, Lone Pine left the deepest emotional impact on me. The rows of headstones and the poignant tales surrounding Lone Pine captured my heart, imprinting an unforgettable image in my mind. Inspired by this profound experience, I painted "Lone Pine" standing tall on the Gallipoli Peninsula, dedicating it to the brave men and women who have served.

Lest We Forget.
